Youngest
If you have read my “About”, you’d be wondering what I meant by, “The youngest in my family isn’t me… it’s my Dad.” Of course, it shouldn’t be taken literally!
an officer and a gentleman.
I’ve never really thought about this, but I realized that my Dad is quite exceptional. He is an officer and a gentleman. As a former military general, I’d say I’m proud that my Dad has climbed up the ranks by his own efforts (unlike some other generals who have reached the top but have tarnished reputations). I’ve seen a soldier get weak at the knees by my Dad’s mere call.
the joker.
Most of my friends believe that I’m such a joker. Well, my Dad’s the original. He could be really funny. He could also be really corny to the point that you’ll think it’s funny. The thing is, my Mom seldom laughs at his jokes, but when she does, it’s just contagious.
I don’t know what got into me that I thought of writing something about my Dad. Maybe because I’m going to be a dad soon? I don’t know. Maybe I just miss him…
as the saying goes, we can only appreciate our parents once we ourselves become parents…saludo ako sayo, kuya! not many male have realized what you have realized, at such a good and perfect time, to show them we love them and they know we love them in our own little way…God bless!
kudos to your dad!… and kudos to you,too for paying tribute your dad.
now, the next step (in case you havent taken it yet)– have this piece of yours read by your father. he will be proud of you! cheers!
unashamedly says : I absolutely agree with this !
I think there’s a saying that our parents grow wiser as we grow old… I guess it is only as we mature and become parents ourselves that we start to realize the good job our parents have done
