It’s a never-ending debate. However, it seems that more and more people are buying LCD TVs instead of Plasma.
Longevity of our Plasma TV? I’m not worried about that. It took me less than 30,000 hours to replace my CRT TV and that’s based on “watching” TV for 8 hours a day for 10 years. It’s just not possible for me to watch more than a 4~5 of hours per day.

Bro, don’t forget to throw in LED into the mix. More lightweight, less heat, longer life, less energy consumption. The downside? higher cost which is to be expected for a new technology.
Between LCD and Plasma though, the cost of LCD has been dropping thanks to the newer LED technology. LCD has less burn-in danger and higher resolution. Plasma still generally boasts better colors and wider viewing angles.
